Understanding Practical English

English has become the global language and as a result, thousands upon thousands of English instruction books have flooded the bookstores. Through my years of teaching English to non-native speakers, I have gone through my fair share of textbooks. Each book has some merits, yet failed in one crucial aspect. These books lacked the practicality and flexibility that is necessary to learn and more importantly, master English as a language.Instead of learning canned phrases or formulaic dialogues, it is important to learn a variety of techniques and ways to express yourself in English. Thus, Practical English fulfills this gap. It allows the student to learn a variety of expressions in order to give students the freedom to choose how to express themselves based on their own circumstances and personalities.In order to continue English education to the next level, this book was based off of native speakers’ and Korean teachers’ contemporary educational techniques to study Practical English in many different channels. Hence, this book has strategically concentrated on Vocabulary building, Dialogue practice, Composition, and Reading skills, so that English can be practiced and associated with various settings.
