전규태 저자 전규태 교수는 1933년 창평리에서 태어났다. 연세대 국문과를 졸업했으며, 건국대 대학원 국문과에서 박사과정을 수료했다. 연세대 문과대 교수를 역임했으며, 미국 하버드대 객원교수(1978년~1979년), 호주 국립대 객원교수(1982년~1984년) 등으로 재직했다. 전주대 학장을 역임했다. 1986년 제5회 한국문학평론가협회상, 제9회 현대시인상, 1998년 김대중 대통령 국민훈장 수상.
