이 책은 셰익스피어의『한여름 밤의 꿈』을 김종환 교수가 번역한 것이다. 크레이그(W.J.Craig)가 편집하여 옥스포드 대학 출판부에서 1914년에 출판했던 옥스포드판을 번역의 기본 텍스트로 삼았다. 번역하는 과정에서 역자가 특히 염두에 둔 것은 가독성과 자연스러운 호흡 단위이다. 대학교 수업시간에 활용될 수 있도록 각주로 부가적인 설명을 삽입하였고, 원문과 번역문의 행이 가능하면 일치하도록 배열했다.
