『각종 산업로의 열관리, 열정산 및 설계요령, 열수지계산』은 열관리 실무자와 이공대학생, 기술 행정직, 각종 공업용 로爐 생산업체의 실무자에게 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 저술한 것이다. 많은 도표를 실었으나 그중 열관리관계제량일람표(표 1.1) 개체열료시험일람도(도 4.1) 및 연료연소경과일람표(표 5.1과 표 5.2)는 이것들에 관련된 계산을 할 때 극히 편리하다고 생각한다. 특히 연소문제에서는 연료의 성분, 화학반응, 연소 가스 성분 등의 관계가 혼란되기 쉬우나, 표 5.1 또는 표 5.2와 대조하면서 계산할 때는 일목요연해서 혼란이 생기지 않는다.

많은 후배와 대기업의 젊은 엘리트 사원들이 공업용 로의 설계와 플랜트 프로젝트를 수행하면서 프로세스 중의 핵심이 되는 로의 난해함 때문에 여러 외서를 구독하기 어려워 저자 본인에게 조속히 우리말 참고서를 저술하도록 충동했고, 본인이 대학생활과 연구소 생활을 거쳐 산업로 업계에 종사한 지도 어언간 삼십여 년이 되어 그동안 경험한 것들을 토대로 이 저술을 하게 된 것이다.
