Now, being able to proudly say that myself indubitably a Korean, a grateful witness to the impassioned spirit for rapid expansion at the global frontier, cannot fail to highly regard Korea's ability to persistently cultivate it's ever-growing capabilities.
However, that was not the case from the beginning. Bearing eyewitness to Korea's rise from the rubble, and the drastic changes over the years of how people viewed and treated Korea.
Born in the ashes of war, a childhood stained from the aftermath during the 1950's and 60's. Enlisting as a cadet in the Air Force during the 70's, I was one of the very few who attained the opportunity to study abroad in the 80's. Which led to the 90's and 2000's, as a public servant, had the opportunity to meet people from all across the globe in various military, public and diplomatic encounters.
It was the 2010's that Korea has truly become head and shoulders with the leading nations. Korea, once a nation receiving humanitarian aid, has developed into a nation, towards which others admire and aspire.
Which led me to wonder what could possibly be the ingredients that led to Korea's prosperity? An answer to, that many of you readers will be eager to find out, the reason this book was written.
Under the context of 「K-DNA, the secret to Korea's prosperity」, the book explains the key aspects that led the rise of Korea's economy and global status: the leaders, mise en sc?ne, and social constructs. In more detail, namely; Korean DNA, excellent devising capability, fluidity and peripheral characters, scholarly spirit and patriotism, sincerity and diligence, spirit of public first and private second, democratic equality, passion for learning, adaptability to environmental changes, high sociability, and Hongik-Ingan (humanitarian ideal).
It is my utmost desire as a writer, a survivor, a veteran, to give the readers an insight into the journey, over the many years, of my beloved nation, my home, Korea.

The key factor driving Korea's national economic development is
Leadership of national leaders and environmental/social conditions,
In addition to these, it is a unique characteristic of Koreans (K-DNA)
Assuming that the sense of victimization or resentment that a person can overcome is '100', the sense of victimization or resentment has been accumulated and hardened as a form of han (恨, grudge) in the hearts of Korean ancestors for many generations and the han takes up about 40 to 50 out of that 100 nominal value from the time they were born. So, the sense of victimization or resentment Koreans can overcome is only about 50 to 60. It's my logic that even when faced with a situation that may seem insignificant to a third person, it causes resonance with the accumulated han exceeding the level of self-restraint, resulting for many Koreans to make an extreme choice. This is the reason why Koreans have the highest suicide rate among OECD countries, unlike people from peninsular countries such as Turkey, Spain, and Italy, who have explosive similar emotional tendencies.
The key factors driving Korea's national economic development today are the leadership of national leaders, environmental/social conditions, and the unique characteristics of Koreans (K-DNA). Characteristics of Koreans, such as excellent devising capability, fluidity and peripheral characters, scholarly spirit and patriotism, sincerity and diligence, spirit of public first and private second, democratic equality, passion for learning, adaptability to environmental changes, high sociability, and Hongik-Ingan (humanitarian ideal) contribute to national economic development. I believe that these are the unique characteristics (K-DNA) of Koreans that have led to Korea's prosperity today.
