Newly published Land of Squid Game introduces Korean traditional games, everyday culture and behavior.

Seoul, Korea - In his new book, Land of Squid Game by Min Byoung-chul, an endowed chair professor at Chung-Ang University who is widely known as a multicultural educator and for his practical English education, he introduces Korean game cultures such as Gganbu and traditional children's games such as Red light, Green light (무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다) as shown in the Netflix drama, Squid Game, and other several traditional games such as Chicken fight, malddukbakgi and many others.

To feed the curiosity of foreigners about their growing interest in Korea and its culture from K-pop, K-movies, as well as Squid Game, this book explains the unique culture of Koreans to help people understand what Koreans do and why they do. The book describes cultural concepts such as Pumasi, jeong, and also describes unique Korean cultural attributes that seems intriguing for foreigners, such as a child being 1-year old when they're born, never writing names in red in Korea, and some old Korean buildings missing the 4th floor.

This book consists of three sections: Korean traditional games, Korean everyday culture, and unique Korean habits & behaviors that are perceived as somewhat interesting yet surprising by foreigners. The book is written both in English and Korean and includes illustrations to help explain the Korean games and cultural attributes.

민병철 Dr. Min Byoung-chul, is an endowed chair professor at Chung-Ang University. He is a multicultural communication educator and widely known for his practical English education in Korea. He currently teaches Business Creativity, a course that helps students from many different countries turn their innovative business ideas for the metaverse into reality.

Dr. Min is the founder and chairman of the Sunfull Foundation, which promotes the Internet Peace Movement. This is a campaign that encourages the posting of positive comments online to counter the harmful and potentially deadly malicious messages that have become common on the internet. His efforts in bringing peace on the internet has gained attention from local as well as global media. In 2021, he was invited to present his life journey and enduring struggles in bringing peace on the internet at the Asian Leadership Conference.
In his speech, he introduced the first-ever vaccine for the ongoing cyberbullying pandemic that netizens have been battling for years.

In 2018, he established the Internet Peace Prize to recognize the individuals and groups who have been working to raise awareness against discriminatory comments and hate speech on the internet and those who contribute to human rights protection and cyber peace.
He hosted and presented practical English instruction on major Korean television networks such as MBC and KBS over 10 years, and in the era of grammar-centered English education in Korea, he promoted and advocated practical English education, contributing to Korea's globalization by initiating national practical English education.
