이세영 그래픽디자이너이자 민화 컬렉터인 이세영은 1988년 디자인 회사인 (주)안그라픽스에 입사하여 크리에이티브 디렉터로 20년간 1,000여 개의 디자인 프로젝트를 진행했다. 경기대학교 시각디자인과 겸임교수를 거쳐 단국대학교 대학원, 상명대학교 대학원, 한양대학교 대학원, 한국종합예술학교에 출강하며 정보디자인 관련 전공을 지도해 왔다. 2006년 독립하여 2023년 현재까지 디자인 회사 〈나비〉를 운영해 오고 있다. 한국의 오래된 디자인에 지속적인 관심을 갖고 조선의 〈민화〉에 천착, 작품활동과 함께 조선민화를 30여년간 컬렉션 해왔다. 조선의 디자인 모음집인 〈나비〉라는 책을 4집까지 발행했으며, 2020년 12월 서울 북촌 계동에 조선민화 전문 갤러리인 〈갤러리조선민화〉를 열면서 동시에 민화 화집인 〈조선민화 1집〉을, 이어 2023년 〈조선민화 2집〉을 발행하면서 민화 뜻을 펼쳐가고 있다.
